Who we are
The Medic Life Platform is operated by The Medic Life Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. The data controller for this service is The Medic Life Ltd. You can reach us at hello@themedic.life.
What we collect
- Account data: your name, email address, and authentication credentials, used to give you access to your account.
- Usage data: practice attempts, mock interview transcripts, scores, chat conversations, and the points and badges you earn. Used to show you progress and to operate the service.
- Payment data: handled by Stripe. We do not store card numbers on our servers.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, and pages visited, used for security and basic analytics.
How we use it
- To deliver the service you signed up for.
- To improve the platform (anonymised, aggregated usage only).
- To send transactional emails (sign-in links, billing receipts).
- To meet legal obligations (for example, retaining tax records).
We do not sell your data to third parties and we do not train any third-party AI model on the content of your practice answers, mock transcripts, or chat conversations.
Where it lives
Your account and usage data are stored in Supabase (Postgres) hosted in the EU. Payment data is processed by Stripe. AI feedback uses Google Gemini for inference; the prompts sent contain only the question and your answer, with no account-identifying information.
How long we keep it
Active accounts: kept while you use the service. Closed accounts: deleted within 30 days of cancellation, except where law requires longer retention.
Your rights (UK GDPR)
You can request access to your data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion, restriction of processing, or a copy of your data in a portable format. Email hello@themedic.life and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Cookies
We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in. We do not run third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
Children
The service is intended for users aged 16 and over (the typical age of UK medical-school applicants is 17 and 18). If you are under 16, please do not create an account.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will notify registered users by email and update the date at the top of this page.
